The community org flywheel

One cohort becomes
your strongest
recruitment tool.

The YMCA of Greater Charlotte didn't need a marketing budget for their second cohort. Families who watched the end-of-semester showcase told other families. The cohort filled before the flyer went out. This is the community org flywheel β€” and Dream Chaser is designed to power it.

01
Intake
Students discover their talent profile
TalentExplorer gives every student shared language for their strengths β€” and gives your staff a way to talk about identity that goes beyond attendance and grades.
02
Build
Students complete a real project
Project Playbooks guide students through 4–12 sessions toward a concrete outcome β€” a business, a cause, a career plan. Dream Circle reflections keep them accountable and connected.
03
Showcase
Students present to families and community
The end-of-cohort showcase is the moment that generates word-of-mouth. Families see their child present something real. That moment travels. Your next cohort fills faster.
04
Report
You receive a funder-ready summary report
Within 7 days of program close: attendance, talent distribution, confidence scores, pre/post outcomes, and 3–5 student quotes. Forward it directly to United Way, your city funder, or your board.
05
Renew
The report funds the next cohort
Your funder sees quantified outcomes and shareable StoryBuilder pages. The case for renewal writes itself. The flywheel completes β€” and accelerates.
What your organization receives

Everything your staff needs.
Nothing they don't.

Community org staff are stretched. Dream Chaser is designed to work with that reality β€” not against it. Your facilitator gets a complete kit. Your leadership gets the data. Your funders get the story.

Facilitator kit β€” plug and play
Slide deck, scripts, timing guides, and transition cues. Your staff member picks it up and runs it. No training beyond reading the guide.
TalentExplorer + printed one-pager
Digital quiz link pre-tested for your devices. Every student takes home a printed talent summary β€” something their family can put on the fridge.
Project Playbooks for every track
Entrepreneurial, Social Venture, and Career Pathway β€” step-by-step guides that match each student's talent profile to a concrete, completable project.
Dream Circle facilitation prompts
Weekly reflection questions that build accountability, peer encouragement, and the habit of connecting project work to community impact.
Pre/post survey + summary report
Digital forms, exportable CSV, and a formatted 7-day summary report ready to forward to United Way, city funders, or your board of directors.
StoryBuilder portfolio pages
Every student's project lives at a shareable URL. Drop the links in your funder report, your newsletter, or your next grant narrative.
Live deployment β€” Allen Blash Foundation

From one-day workshop
to recurring program β€” the ABF model.

The Allen Blash Foundation (ABF) runs the A2E (Academic Achievement to Empowerment) leadership initiative for youth in Spartanburg, SC β€” a United Way-funded program focused on mentorship, character, and career awareness. Their Dream Chaser deployment shows exactly how a community org moves from a one-time pilot to a sustainable recurring model.

March 21, 2026
One-Day A2E Leadership Workshop
~20 students, ages 11–13. On a college campus. TalentExplorer, two Project Playbook teasers, Dream Circle, and a 5-question reflection form. Total budget: $500 β€” matched exactly to United Way funding. Nick Blash ran the full day using the facilitator kit, without Leslie present.
July 2026
4-Day Summer Leadership & STEM Strand
~28 students. Tuesday–Friday afternoons during camp. TalentExplorer, playbook selection, team project planning, StoryBuilder pages, and a full pre/post survey built from ABF's existing 34-item assessment tool β€” plus 5 DCK add-on questions. Budget: $1,200–$1,500. Funded by Southside Promise Grant.
Ongoing
Pathway to after-school & school-based labs
ABF's stated intent is to expand Dream Chaser Kids into recurring after-school programming, school partnerships, and leadership cohorts throughout the Southside Promise school network. The data from the workshop and summer strand becomes the case for that expansion.

"This workshop will serve as an introduction to Dream Chaser Kids within our A2E initiative. If it resonates, we'd like to explore after-school programming, summer experiences, and school-based leadership labs."

How DCK aligns to ABF's existing data

ABF's 34-item pre/post survey covers positive choices, emotional regulation, communication, conflict management, healthy habits, leadership, and planning ahead. DCK's 5 add-on questions plug directly into those sections β€” no separate assessment, no extra admin load.

The combined survey gives ABF and Southside Promise the data they need: % of students who can name a talent, % with a concrete project idea, and confidence in community impact β€” all in the same export.

Built for your funder requirements

The reporting layer is built in β€” not bolted on.

Every Dream Chaser cohort generates a funder-ready summary within 7 days of program close. No extra admin. No separate data collection process. Just the evidence your funders need, formatted and ready to share.

Attendance & completion rates
Daily attendance logs, TalentExplorer completion, project plan completion, StoryBuilder page creation.
Pre/post outcome scores
Confidence, career awareness, talent identification, and community impact scores β€” by section and by student.
3–5 student quotes
Direct student voice on leadership, confidence, and future possibility β€” ready for grant narratives and board presentations.
StoryBuilder portfolio links
Every student's project at a shareable URL. Drop them in your funder report or highlight them at your annual event.
Talent distribution chart
Which talents your cohort identified most β€” useful for program design, cohort planning, and community narrative.
Exportable CSV for your own reporting
All data is exportable as a flat CSV so it drops into your existing evaluation tools, grant reporting systems, or CRM.
Multi-site scalability

One kit.
Any number
of sites.

The YMCA of Greater Charlotte proved this in the first deployment: three campuses, one facilitator kit, consistent outcomes across all three. No site-specific customization. No trainer traveling between locations. If your organization runs multiple program sites, Dream Chaser scales with you β€” not against you.

The key is the kit design. Every piece of the facilitator package β€” slide deck, scripts, assessment tools, reflection prompts β€” is designed to be self-contained. A facilitator at Site B gets the same experience as Site A, because everything they need is in the kit.

No trainer needed on site
Leslie and the Dream Chaser team never need to travel. Your team runs it. Your outcomes belong to you.
Consistent outcomes across locations
Same kit, same structure, same data collection β€” so your multi-site reporting is clean and comparable.
Add sites without reinventing
When you add a new location, you receive the same kit. No custom development, no ramp-up time.
Recurring program model
Once the kit is built, it reruns every semester or season. Minimal reinvestment. Maximum consistency.
